Go beyond the breeding soundness exam. Sperm motility only tells part of the story. For a sperm to effectively fertilize an egg, it needs an intact acrosome and good quality DNA.

If you know the sperm quality is good before you breed, you’ll have a greater chance of a full term pregnancy and more babies on the ground. We can tell you how the sperm in your straw looks, or the raw ejaculate relative to other samples.
We scientifically analyze sperm cells looking at traits, that impact reproductive success.
Our quality control assay will provide you with an in-depth analysis of the quality of sperm. By conducting this test before you breed you won't waste time and money on low quality sperm.
We will give you a clear picture of how effective sperm will be and the likelihood of producing offspring. This way you know the quality of sperm before you inseminate females.
Sperm quality greatly affect chances of pregnancy. Breeding Soundness Exams may not tell the whole story. Testing overall breeding characteristics of the animal, but they do not do an in-depth sperm analysis. This means even after passing a BSE, the animal’s sperm could have issues, making achieving pregnancy difficult. What if there was a way to know more about semen quality before inseminating a female?
Membrane Protection Technologies, Inc. will perform a custom sperm quality assay so that you get the most out of artificial insemination. With this analysis you can increase the odds of pregnancy, and purchase the best straws or live animals.
MPTI’s sperm quality assay evaluates eight key qualities of the sperm.
This is a video of sperm that is moving ‘correctly’ and is more likely to fertilize an egg.
Sperm that are moving progressively are indicated by green lines. The red doe indicates the sperm was counted but not moving. Blue lines and yellow indicate the speed that the cells are moving. A slow swimming cell can often be assumed to be of poor quality.
This video shows how the sperm is measured by a machine called a Computer Assisted Sperm Analyzer. This takes out all human bias and subjectivity in assessment of sperm quality.

2. Ship us two/three straws of frozen semen per bull, or we can send a kit for collection.
3. We’ll email you the results, and be available to discuss them with you, or your veterinarian.
